                   Herbalist’s Crystal

                             Fuchsite

Fuchsite was named after the German mineralogist Johann Fuchs and  has been found in Russia and India but mainly found in Brazil. The colour is due to the presence of chromium and it comes in various shades of green and is the green form of Muscovite Mica.1 There is also fuchsite-bearing rocks near Menzies in Western Australia.

It assists in personal interactions, wellness and productivity, enhancing knowledge and “right action,” particularly in the fields of holistic medicine. It can help in bringing forth information concerning herbal and holistic remedies. Fuchsite is said to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself, and to increase the effectiveness of other minerals that are being used in healing’. I like to call it the Herbalist’s Crystal and I have wired wrapped a stone and have it in my car hanging from the mirror to aid in my mobile herbalist business. 2

As a heart chakra stone, it links the intellect of the mind with the heart and helps to speed up the healing process when used by healers by amplifying the energy of crystals:

                                      History of Crystals

Crystals have been used as a practice for healing that is considered to have existed as long as mankind has existed. They have been discovered in graves and barrows in Europe, the Middle East, and Russia. Ancient Egypt widely used crystals and it is documented 2000 BC as being a medical cure. Native Americans, the original settlers, in the North, Central and South America were known for their spiritual, ceremonial and healing uses of crystals. Mayan Indians used quartz crystal for both diagnosis and treatment of disease while in China  the Quartz crystal balls were considered represent  the heart or the essence of the dragon which is considered to have great power. In Japan the stone jade was associated with the concentrated essence of love while in India stones were regarded as having great spiritual and emotional powers and documents as early as 400 BC contained information as to how various stones can counteract the negative influences of planetary positions.
